Fast-forward to college: mechanical engineering diploma in hand (tried aiming for a computer-related group but didn't know much about diploma courses back then), CAD drawings and gears filling my days. Stable career path? Check. But deep down, that kid's spark never died.

The Turning Point: My Brother's World Opens the Door

The turning point started with my brother. He lands a gig at a church—they hand him a shiny new system and camera. "Learn video editing," they say. Me? I tagged along, watching him fumble through timelines, sync audio (disastrously at first), and cut simple clips. No formal lessons, just trial-and-error in the corner of the room. 🎬 Whoops moments everywhere: clips out of sync, colors all wrong, exports that crashed. But I was hooked. Those late nights fixing his edits? That's when video editing snuck into my blood.

The Detours: Life's Wild Plot Twists

Engineering didn't stick. I bounced through random jobs: hotel management supervisor (endless shifts, zero creativity), computer operator (data entry drudgery). Then... the breakup. Heartbroken, lost, staring at screens for solace. I dove deeper into editing—lyrical songs first, simple church videos next. Every "whoops" (wrong cut, bad grade) taught me something. No mentors, no courses—just YouTube tutorials at 2 AM and sheer stubbornness.

A close friend tipped me off: "There's a video editing opportunity at a wedding company in Hyderabad—try it. I know you've got that touch from our church edits." Landed as Junior Video Editor at Smara Captures (2022-2025), rising to Main Editor: 50+ wedding films, 20+ corporate events, multi-cam sync chaos, live on-site edits under pressure. DaVinci Resolve became my weapon—timecodes across mixed frame rates, color grading emotions into magic. Post that? Full freelance with Edit Empathy, teaching DaVinci basics on Instagram Reels to 100+ beginners.
